Cuttlebug - Inking the Negative

With this Cuttlebug technique, you can create a colored and embossed background for your project using an embossing folder and an ink pad.

For this tutorial, you will need:

  • Cuttlebug or similar die cutting machine
  • Ink pad - chalk inks work best and don't stain
  • Embossing folder
  • Cardstock

1. Apply chalk ink to the negative side of your embossing folder using a dabbing motion.
step one

2. Fold your cardstock inside of the embossing folder and run it through your cuttlebug.
step two

3. Open the folder and carefully remove the cardstock. I would recommend cleaning your folder RIGHT AWAY to avoid staining it. So far I haven’t had any staining if I clean it up real fast.
4. Finished cardstock.
step three
